The Story
Trevoli Jumbo Granular Activated Carbon Cartridges (KDF/GAC)
Specifications:
KDF is known to reduce:
*Algae and fungi
*Control bacteria growth
*Remove chlorine <95%
*Pesticides
*Organics
*Rust
*Taste
*Odour
*Hydrogen sulfide
*Heavy Metals: Iron, Lead, Nickel, Chromium, Cadmium, Aluminium, Mercury, Arsenic
*Calcium
GAC has been used for many years to reduce chlorine, taste and odour from drinking water due to its ability to absorb these components. Due to its high degree of microporosity, just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of 500m2
Definitions:
KDF-Kinetic Degradation Fluxion is a high-purity copper-zinc formulation that uses a basic chemical process known as redox (oxidation/reduction) to remove chlorine, lead, mercury, iron, and hydrogen sulfide from water supplies.
A filter with Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is a proven option to remove certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water. GAC filters can be used to remove chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor) or chlorine.
Applications:
KDF filters are used most often in conjunction with an activated carbon filter. They prolong the life and increase the effectiveness of carbon filters. They also supplement the activated carbon filters by removing certain heavy metals, something that carbon-based filters are not very effective at removing.
KDF is also frequently found in home showerhead filters because of its effectiveness at higher operating temperatures and flow rates.
